Gymnastics Club

Our aim is to include everyone who want to participate. We promote a fun, positive environment and offer a broad range of activities that will interest and challenge children of all abilities. Our participants learn skills that are transferable to other sports and keep and healthy and active at the same time!

We encourage your child to get involved in gymnastics!

Our Coaches

Our Head Coach is qualified to teach Intermediate Gymnastics for All, Intermediate Women’s Gymnastics and a qualified supervisor for beginner coaches.

The club currently has two other intermediate ‘Gymnastics for All’ coaches and all coaches and three beginner coaches. All coaches hold First Aid certificates.

Classes

KKCS hosts a range of gymnastic classes during school terms. Please use ages mentioned below as a guide only.

Kids On The Move - 0-5 years (Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9:30am till 10:30am)

This class is a fun and physical class that incorporates both gymnastics and fitness skills for young children. This class will get the children moving as well as developing their brain to increase their physical potential before they go to school. We provide a safe environment for children to develop physical skills in a fun and playful way, at their own rate. We welcome all children, and the classes are open to all abilities. Parents are encouraged to join in on these classes as much as they can.

Beginner Rec - 3-4 years

Our recreational classes are full of fun! In this class children learn the basics of all gym sports from tumbling, women’s artistic gymnastics, men’s artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, and trampolining. No experience needed

Junior Rec - 4-8 years

This class is for boys and girls and will teach the foundations of gymnastics, while incorporating skills from all types on gymnastics including women’s, men’s, acrobatics, trampoline, rhythmic, and cheerleading. They will learn to use a range of gymnastics apparatuses and hand equipment. This class focuses on the four f’s in gymnastics; fun, fitness, fundamentals, and friendship. No experience needed

Intermediate Rec - 9-11 years

This class is for boys and girls. It will teach gymnastics skills from women’s, men’s, acrobatics, trampoline, rhythmic, and cheerleading, as well as basic tumbling skills. They will use a wide variety of equipment and apparatuses. There will be strength and fitness activities involved in this class, as well as lots of games and fun. No experience needed.

Open Rec - 12-15 years

This class is for boys and girls and will teach more advanced gymnastics skills from women’s, men’s, acrobatics, trampoline, rhythmic, cheerleading, as well as more advanced tumbling skills. They will use a wide variety of equipment, with strength, fitness and flexibility activities involved. There will be lots of games and fun for all. No experience needed.

Women's Artistic Gymnastics - competitive

Women’s Gymnastics is a fun and challenging sport where girls are able to build their coordination and confidence to an advanced level. Built around performing four apparatus, the sport allows for participants to provide creative input into their routines,where strength, flexibility, balance and body awareness all contribute towards a gymnast’s self-confidence. National Stream levels go from Levels 1 to 10. We have broken the levels up into different time slots as they will have separate coaches running each level. Our girls travel to competitions around the hunter.

National Levels 1-2

Gymnasts in these levels will learn the basics of competitive gymnastics and develop fundamental skills needed for higher level. The competition season runs roughly from June through to October.

National Levels 3+

In NL 3+ gymnasts will begin learning more complex skills and advanced skills leading into high levels. The competition season runs from June through to November. Gymnasts in these levels have the opportunity to compete in states if they qualify.

Performance Squad

Performance Gymnastics provides groups of gymnasts the opportunity to showcase their gymnastics skills using any style and combination of gymnastics and dance.Skills are artfully arranged with or without music and using any large or handheld apparatus or no equipment at all. Our performance team will perform at local events around the area with the possibility to travel to Sydney for performance opportunities.

Boys Only

This class runs very similar to our other recreational classes, but is designed for the boys to feel comfortable with their peers. This class builds strength,confidence, self-esteem, develops cognitive skills to help them in the classroom, and provides positive social interaction. This class will teach the fundamental skills for Men’s Artistic Gymnastics, as well as fitness, strength, and tumbling. We encourage all boys of any age to be involved with this class.

What to wear

Gymnasts attending classes should be dressed appropriately for their class. It is important for the safety of both gymnasts and coaches that children wear suitable clothing.

Enrolment

To enrol or check the availability of a class, please ring Head Coach, Eloise on 0408 711 361 or email gym@thecentreatkurrikurri.com.au to complete enrolment form. Enrolment forms will need to be filled out for your child on registration day. A small re-enrolment form will be given out in one of the last few weeks of each term to confirm children’s positions in classes. At the beginning of each year, a new enrolment form must be filled out to ensure  contact details are up to date.

Payments

There are now two ways to pay your account; pay upfront or Integrapay. You can pay upfront by cash or Eftpos at reception or fill in an Integrapay form and either each week or fortnight (you choose), we will take the class fees out of your nominated bank account.

Cancellations

Gymnastic classes may be cancelled due to extreme hot weather. Notification will always be given where possible.
